WT Hydraulics provide hydraulic engineering services across several industries, with branches in Kalgoorlie, Perth, Esperance and Hobart. We provide one stop solutions to complex hydraulic problems through a combination of problem solving, design, product procurement and customisation, installation, project management, and after sales protection.

Early in 1999, WT Hydraulics employed Kraige Cooper to the position of Development Manager. With over 20 years experience in the hydraulic industry, Kraige Cooper has set the foundation for the business with a history of technical expertise. Mr Cooper now owns the company.

Kraige Cooper
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Role: Enabling the team to deliver effective, technically sound solutions to our customers’ problems through open strategic management of the resources at our disposal.

Background: Having spent 9 years in Hydraulic Field Service followed by 4 years as a Hydraulic Sales Engineer. The time was then right to bring that experience to my own operation, which was over 20 years ago. Since then, I have learnt about the world of Hydraulics, Control Systems and People.

Interests outside work: Family, Carlton Football Club and anything that goes fast around corners.

John Cross
ESPERANCE BRANCH MANAGER

Role: Providing guidance and knowledge for the Esperance team. Assisting customers by providing technically sound Hydraulic and Pneumatic solutions.

Background: Having been around hydraulics since 1989 working on drill rigs and then moving forward to work for Kraige a WT Hydraulics in 2001. Since 2001 John has worked with hydraulics and machinery at Kalgoorlie and now in the Esperance branch.

Interests outside work: NSW NRL, family and travelling Australia.

Curvin Valaydon
OPERATIONS & ADMIN MANAGER

Role: Lead the business making decisions by providing valuable financial inputs to the Director and managers. Support the team through building inter and intra departmental relationships.

Background: As a finance professional with over 17 years’ experience in leading Mining and Oil & Gas companies, Curvin applies his knowledge from this advanced background to assist WT Hydraulics in our strategic business moves.

Interests outside work: Golf, movies, music and watching sports.

George Christidis
KALGOORLIE BRANCH MANAGER

Role: Providing guidance and knowledge for the Kalgoorlie team. Assisting customers by providing technically sound Hydraulic and Pneumatic solutions.

Background: Being a part of the Hydraulics industry since 1989, George brings a wealth of subsea installation experience. For over 20 years he has been involved in and lead the infield installation of subsea pipelines, subsea flexibles and subsea hardware. George has developed his leadership and management skills in various managerial positions.

Interests outside work: Family and anything Harley's, Cars and putting on showstopper BBQ’s.

Chris Venables
TASMANIA WORKSHOP MANAGER

Role: Supporting and leading the Hobart workshop team to deliver solutions and improve efficiencies. Assisting customers in all their independent circumstances.

Background: Undertook apprenticeship in 2007 which lead Chris to working in a variety of environments from mining to marine and farming before setting down in Tasmania. Chris worked in a fifo role at WT Hydraulics from 2020 before collaborating with Kraige to open WT’s first interstate branch in southern Tasmania in 2022. Chris has been actively involved in the growth and development of the Hobart branch ever since.

Interests outside work: All things faith, family and outdoors. When not at work Chris will be fishing off the shores of Tasmania or stalking wild game inland.

Andy Gorman
PERTH WORKSHOP MANAGER

Role: Supporting and leading the Perth workshop team to deliver solutions and improve efficiencies. Assisting customers in all their independent circumstances.

Background: Andy began in hydraulics working on cylinders in 2003, over the years since then he gained experience in all facets of hydraulics from components to complete hydraulic/pneumatic and water glycol systems. Andy serviced both the mining and oil & gas sectors whilst working on topside and subsea systems in technician and managerial roles. This experience has lead him to gaining a Cert IV in Fluid Power and a Diploma in Engineering.

Interests outside work: Family, NFL, Anime and fast bikes and cars.
